Online Table Games
Roulette, blackjack and baccarat are all table games, but the player's role is very different in each. Roulette centers on choosing outcome bets, blackjack includes player decisions that can affect expected return, and baccarat is mainly a choice among defined betting outcomes.
Roulette, blackjack and baccarat at a glance
| Game | Main decision | Result mechanism | What changes expected return |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roulette | Choose number/group bets | Wheel outcome in live play or RNG in virtual play | Wheel/rule variant and chosen bet |
| Blackjack | Hit, stand, double, split and other choices where permitted | Card outcomes | Rules and player decisions |
| Baccarat / punto banco | Choose Player, Banker or Tie-type outcomes | Card dealing rules | Bet type, commission/rule variant |
House edge is a long-run mathematical advantage
Casino table games are generally designed with an advantage to the house. The exact edge depends on the game, rule set and bet. In blackjack, player decisions can also influence expected return; in roulette, choosing a different bet type changes payout and probability but does not turn the game into a positive-expectation wager under standard casino rules.
Live or virtual?
Many classic table games can be offered in both live and RNG versions. A live roulette result can come from a physical wheel, while a virtual roulette result can come from software RNG. The visual similarity does not mean the integrity controls are identical.
A practical selection checklist
Read the rule variant
Blackjack payout rules, roulette wheel format and baccarat commission can change the mathematical edge.
Check limits
Live tables often have defined minimum and maximum stakes that vary by table.
Understand the bet before placing it
High-payout side bets can carry very different probabilities and house edges from the base game.
